Founded in 1894, Fitchburg State University is a public institution located on a 31-acre main campus in Fitchburg, Mass. It began offering online bachelor’s degree programs in nursing and business administration in 2009. There are two fraternities and three sororities active at Fitchburg State, and students may also join more than 60 clubs and organizations. Known as the Falcons, the university’s 16 athletic teams compete in the NCAA Division III Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference.
