Online Certificates and Degrees in Public Health & Human Services
A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (BSW) or a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Human Services is usually considered the minimum degree required for entry into this profession. If you want to advance into administrative or policy–making jobs in these fields you will probably need to attain a Master of Public Health (MPH) or a Master of Science (MS) in Human Services. In general, public health and human services careers are considered demanding, but they also offer a great deal of satisfaction to those with a desire to help others.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that employment for public health and human services workers will grow by 24% through 2016 – much faster than average when compared to all occupations. Opportunities in rural areas, which often find it difficult to attract skilled experts in these fields, will be especially plentiful.
