The Johns Hopkins University was founded as a not-for-profit private research university in 1876. The institution resides in Baltimore, Maryland, just outside of our nation’s capital, Washington, D.C. Graduate students at the Whiting School of Engineering have been pursuing degrees since the school since 1921, just three years after the school was established.
