Curriculum and Instruction Degree Programs | Online Education Degrees

Degrees in curriculum and instruction provide you with an understanding of how to develop coursework. Earning a curriculum and instruction master’s degree can mean an opportunity to help decide what is taught throughout an entire school or school district. Certificates in this field are typically graduate–level certificates, which means that you will need a bachelor’s degree (probably in an education field) before you can attend a curriculum and instruction certificate program.

Degrees in Curriculum and Instruction – Job Outlook

Education and curriculum classes typically focus on conducting educational research, creating learning materials and supervising instructors. Though most curriculum designers work in primary, secondary or postsecondary education environments, some find work in the rapidly expanding (and often lucrative) instructional technology field.

Curriculum design is a set of skills, not an occupation, so the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics doesn’t maintain employment data related to it. However, steady job growth is expected throughout the teaching field through 2016: 12% in early childhood education, 12% in K–12 education and up to 23% in adult education. Having a graduate-level certificate or degree in curriculum and instruction – especially if you work in instructional technology – can lead to top-notch job opportunities.
