Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling
Available at the Amherst Campus, Rochester Campus and Online
Whether you want to open a private practice, enter the mental health field or advance your career in counseling, Medaille's Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program prepares you to evaluate and diagnose mental health issues and provide direct counseling to individuals and groups in private practices, clinics, hospitals, community agencies and rehabilitation facilities. This is a fully accredited program that meets the New York State education requirements for Licensed Mental Health Counselors.
Master of Arts in Organizational LeadershipThe Master of Organizational Leadership program (MOL) has one overriding aim: to produce leaders. Leaders are people who practice leadership and not just people who know
something about it. Graduates of the MOL students will be able to identify and apply the major concepts and models of leadership, specifically in the areas of systems thinking, coaching and mentoring, decision making, diversity, and organizational change. All of these subject areas provide the student with a “big picture” perspective of what it takes to be the leader of an organization always prepared for its next reality.
Medaille's Masters in Organizational Leadership is preparing the next generation of leaders. It's designed to develop and enhance the management skills necessary to function effectively within business, industry, healthcare and community organizations. Our program focuses on the management of human and physical resources within various organizational cultures. Students learn the skills required to manage people, plans and projects.
Master of Arts in Psychology
Available at the Amherst Campus and Online
Medaille is a great fit for students looking to gain entrance into a career in psychology or pursue a doctoral degree. A convenient 12-month program, Medaille’s MA in Psychology program provides you an opportunity to explore several sub fields of psychology while gaining advanced training in each of the core areas of study.
The 36-credit course of study includes behavioral neuroscience, clinical psychology, cognitive psychology, developmental psychology and psychopathology, among other classes. To complete the degree program students can choose to complete a final thesis or internship. If students are continuing on to a doctorate then writing a thesis is very beneficial while an internship in a mental health, medical or human services setting helps you begin your future in the mental health field.
Master of Business Administration
The Medaille College MBA program addresses the two major dichotomies that the general manager or business executive must engage: the business itself and the organization that conducts that business. The MBA develops proficiencies not only in strategic thinking, decision making, and the functional areas of any business but also in the leadership and organizational behavior aspects of optimizing the greatest resource and organization has – the right people.
The MBA has a broad range of quantitative courses that address the accounting and financial competencies any general manager type must have along with courses in economics, statistics, marketing, and global business. The last two courses is strategic management and the Integrative Project prepare the student to think strategically about the various levels of the thinking that goes on in any organization and to actually create a business concept, develop a feasibility plan, and then write a full-blown business plan.
