The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics expects solid employment growth in this field: 13% for human resources managers and 21% for human resources specialists through 2020. In May 2012, the median annual salary was $99,180 for HR managers and $52,690 for HR specialists. As noted above, expertise with technology and/or corporate training can mean better job prospects. If you want to advance to an executive-level position, a human resources certificate or master’s degree may be necessary.
