Availability of Healthcare-Related MBA Programs Increasing

Specialized MBA Programs in HealthcareIn recent years, a growing number of MBA programs have expanded to include training in other disciplines. Many postsecondary schools are offering these hybrid initiatives in order to help professionals gain experience in a fields like healthcare with programs, such as, MBA's in healthcare administration and healthcare management.
For example, Cardinal Stritch University's College of Business and Management recently announced in a press release that it has added healthcare and global business concentrations to its MBA program, in an effort to prepare students for the specific demands of certain industries.
"The MBA program prepares students to be critical thinkers and effective leaders in their organizations," said Clara Brennan, dean of Stritch's College of Business and Management. "These concentrations contribute significantly to the current needs of a global economy and enhance the level of expertise of the labor force technically and culturally, so that the U.S. may compete and lead once again."
Courses in the healthcare administration concentration cover topics such as legal, ethical and regulatory issues. The global business specialization focuses on international financial management, the cultural environment of global business, the human resource management of a global workforce, international economics and international business law.
