Harvard Business School's website states that students who enroll in its Master of Business Administration (MBA) program can not only thrive in a rigorous academic setting, but also show they have leadership potential. Meanwhile, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Sloan School of Management's website says the institution looks for MBA degree seekers who are independent, creative and authentic thought leaders ready to put their stamp on the world.

While these and many other business schools are looking for unique students, there is some overlap in the qualities these institutions hope their applicants will possess. This begs the question, "Are there certain characteristics successful MBA degree seekers possess?"

According to Business 2 Community, the answer is yes. The online community reports that successful business school graduates tend to be leaders, as they will typically be required to oversee teams and projects. At the same time, these individuals are disciplined and know how to tune out distractions, focus and better ensure their long-term success.

In addition to being decisive and practical, those enrolled in business school who go on to be successful are often strong networkers. The ability to interact with and get to know complete strangers can yield a great job or snag a company a desirable contract.
