Arnold Schwarzenegger is set to begin a new career in higher education.
After successful careers as a bodybuilder, movie star and California governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger is set to launch his fourth venture, this time in higher education. C.L. Max Nikias, the president of the University of Southern California (USC), is scheduled to announce the creation of the USC Schwarzenegger Institute for State and Global Policy, which will be part of the university's Sol Price School of Public Policy, The Chronicle of Higher Education reports.

Upon the establishment of the institute, Schwarzenegger will serve as its governor downey professor of state and global policy as well as the chairman of its board of advisers.

The institute is set to focus on five key research areas, including education, energy and environment, health and human wellness, political reform, and fiscal and economic policy, The Washington Post reports.

"This institute is dedicated to promoting a new era of post-partisanship, where solutions are the result of intelligent and civil discussion between people with deeply held principles who understand the need to work through their disagreements to achieve real solutions," Schwarzenegger said, as quoted by the USC website. "Knowing USC’s reputation as one of the nation’s leading policy schools, I could think of no better home for this institute."

Given his support for the institute's outlined goals, Schwarzenegger has promised $20 million from his personal funds, as well as future fundraising to support the new facility, the Post states.
