Students who earn an MBA can advance in their careers. Many business professionals know that today, in order to move up in their careers, they must earn a Master of Business Administration (MBA). In fact, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics states that most top executives, including CEOs, general managers and company presidents, must hold a graduate credential such as an MBA degree.
Recently, a wide variety of MBA program graduates saw how true this statement is, as they used their skills and education to advance in their careers. Gene Yoon, for example, earned an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Bloomberg BusinessWeek reports. While Yoon formerly worked at Goldman Sachs, she is leaving to start a private equity fund, for which she already has $500 million in backing. Additionally, Yoon will appoint Andrew Sullivan, a fellow MBA graduate, as the head of the fund's disability unit.
Another MBA who will use his education to advance in his position is Mark Schwartz, BusinessWeek states. Schwartz, who graduated from Harvard Business School, recently announced that he will return to Goldman Sachs after spending 11 years away from the company to run its Asian business.
