Students who opt to enroll in law school can often have many benefits after graduation. For example, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the number of jobs for lawyers is expected to increase by about 13% through 2018. Additionally, 2008 BLS data shows that the median annual salary of lawyers is about $110,590 per year, while those who work in the federal executive branch can see even larger paychecks.

Still, Juris Doctor (JD) students do not need to wait until they graduate to see the benefits of attending law school. According to the 2011 Law School Survey of Student Engagement, the vast majority of law students enjoy their academic experience.

The survey shows that about 83% of JD degree-seekers said they would rate their experience in law school as either good or excellent. Additionally, approximately 80% of students said they would probably or definitely attend the same law school if they could make the decision again.

A majority of students also felt that they were learning things that would prepare them for blossoming careers as lawyers. The report shows that 88% JD degree-seekers said their law school experience was helping them develop a broad legal education.
