Electrical engineers design, develop, test and supervise the manufacture of equipment, such as lighting and wiring in buildings, radar and navigation systems that are used by electric utilities, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

In order to help professionals in this field improve their job skills, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) - the world's largest technical professional association - recently announced in a press release that its eLearning Library will now offer courses and conference workshops. Members of the association will receive a discount on classes.

"Our extensive peer-review process assures IEEE members that each tutorial meets the high standards for quality and accuracy."

The eLearning Library features more than 200 online courses, which can result in continuing education units or professional development hours in topics such as smart grid, biometrics, telecommunications and green engineering.
