Danielle Fishel - star of the 90s sitcom "Boy Meets World" and actress in next year's spinoff, "Girl Meets World" - recently wrote on her Tumblr that at the age of 31, she has officially become a college graduate.

Although Fishel skipped college earlier in life to pursue an acting career, she decided to go back to school at the age of 27. As a nontraditional learner, Fishel was initially afraid to go to college, thinking she was too old to keep up with her younger classmates. However, once she confronted that fear, she found she was able to be successful.

"I enrolled," Fishel wrote on her Tumblr. "I went every day and took copious notes and studied my little old lady heart out. Yes, I was sometimes the oldest person in class, I was whispered about many times, and I did forget how to do a few math equations. But I persevered and sometimes I wasn’t the oldest person in class, some of the whisperers became good friends, and I did so well in math, I even became a tutor."

Given her experience, Fishel said she would advise other adult learners to put their reservations aside and enroll in college. While the journey to an associate's or bachelor's degree will be challenging, Fishel said the benefits will make the experience well worth it.
