Olivia Culpo, a 20-year-old sophomore at Boston University, was recently crowned Miss Universe in front of millions of viewers across the globe. The brunette beauty from Rhode Island captured the world's attention with her flawless public speaking skills and stunning wardrobe to win the crown for the U.S. for the first time in over a decade.

However, aside from her good looks, Culpo is also a model student at Boston University. The young bachelor's degree seeker is an accomplished cellist who has played with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. During her time in Boston, Culpo has also begun a budding modeling career, appearing in ads for Keurig, the Improper Bostonian and Stuff Magazine. Earlier this year, she also scored a small part in the comedy "Ted."

After being crowned Miss USA in June, Culpo told BU Today that she planned to take this year off to support a variety of causes with the Miss USA organization, including the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation. However, when she returns to Boston University in 2013, Culpo said she plans to study either communications or acting.
