Ashford University Launches Online Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Wellness
Individuals who wish to launch careers as health and wellness practitioners should consider earning a bachelor's degree, as the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics notes that this will be the minimum requirement for entry-level positions in the field.

In an effort to help more nontraditional students - such as working adults, parents and military members - gain higher education in healthcare, Ashford University recently announced in a press release that it will offer an online Bachelor's degree in Health and Wellness.

"Ashford's BA in health and wellness can prepare students to be part of the health reform solution by providing them the insights and skills needed to promote healthy lifestyles and prevent disease throughout the lifespan," said Alice Vestergaard, executive dean of the College of Health, Human Services and Science. "For many paraprofessionals in the health and wellness industry, this degree can serve as the ideal next step for career advancement and enhancement."

Graduates of this and similar programs can be prepared for employment in a variety of positions, including gym instructor, trainer, health coach or YMCA teacher.
