Unlike many DNP (Doctor of Nursing Practice) programs, Capella’s CCNE-accredited DNP focuses on administrative, organizational, and systems leadership competencies to prepare you for a variety of nursing leadership positions. The Project Management Institute (PMI®) Global Accreditation Center (GAC) has accredited Capella’s BS-IT, BS-Business, MS-IT, and MBA Project Management specializations.

As a Project Management Institute Registered Education Provider, Capella has been approved by PMI to issue Professional Development Units (PDUs) for more than 25 of its project management courses. Social Work (DSW)

Prepare yourself for leadership in the growing field of social work

Capella University now offers a Doctor of Social Work (DSW) program, one of very few online DSW degree programs. This professional doctorate is designed around national social work education guidelines, and emphasizes critical thinking, action research, and the incorporation of theoretical knowledge with practical experience. There is also a strong focus on the growing use of technology to expand the reach and effectiveness of social service programs, build awareness of important social issues, and enhance professional development. Capella’s DSW program is designed to be completed in 3 years, with all courses taken in sequence, allowing you to learn and build professional relationships with the same cohort of students.

The Doctor of Social Work degree program is structured as a cohort, and it offers experienced practitioners the opportunity to use the latest technological advancements to develop the knowledge and skills needed to advance their professional practice and contribute to the profession as scholars, teachers, and administrators. The curriculum includes online course work and face-to-face learning experiences and emphasizes critical thinking and action research and encourages learners to incorporate theoretical knowledge with relevant experience.
