NJIT is New Jersey’s science and technology university. We’re proud of our 125 years of history, but that’s just the beginning. We’ve doubled the size of campus in the last decade, pouring millions into major new research facilities to give our students the edge they need in today’s demanding high-tech marketplace.
NJIT prepares its graduates for positions of leadership as professionals and as citizens; provides educational opportunities for a broadly diverse student body; responds to needs of large and small businesses, state and local governmental agencies, and civic organizations; partners with educational institutions at all levels to accomplish its mission; and advances the uses of technology as a means of improving the quality of life.Online Learning at NJIT
NJIT online classes are virtual learning communities with instructor-led online classrooms that use rich platforms to present course material as well as both asynchronous and synchronous communication. Online courses are flexible and rigorous educational experiences suited to motivated students.

As a graduate student with an admissions application on file, you are automatically considered for graduate financial support in the form of grants, stipends, and the like. You can view the eligibility criteria and contact information for the types of support on the Graduate Financial Support Contacts page.
Additionally, as an NJIT graduate student, you can apply for supplemental funding in the form of an education loan – including Federal Direct Loan, Perkins Loan, or a private loan—by filing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Once your FAFSA is on file at NJIT, you will automatically be awarded Federal Direct Loans, either subsidized or unsubsidized, based on your eligibility. (You are free to decline the loans if you do not want to receive them.)
Keep in mind, though, that all graduate teaching and research award decisions are made by the individual academic departments and not the Office of Graduate Studies. (As such, the terms and conditions of the awards vary.) Also please note that financial support is generally reserved for those students pursuing a doctoral degree. Initial financial support for international master’s degree students at NJIT is extremely limited, and international students in master’s programs can qualify for financial support only after completing one semester of study at NJIT.
